High-rise buildings and luxury houses were completely different types of projects. No matter how sophisticated the design of a high-rise was, there was always a corporate methodology matrix using modular and semi-modular approaches to ensure speed in production and cost leadership.
Luxury homes, on the other hand, often had enormous budgets but were owned by individuals who might request a harmonized design or treat each room as a stand-alone project.
I found it exciting to shift my mindset from the economy of scale required for designing commercial or residential buildings to the unique methodology of using materials and conceptualizing a luxury house.
I considered myself fortunate to have such diverse experience. While some people excelled by focusing on a specific type of project and service, which was also a valuable talent, I appreciated the variety in my career. As I often said, 'God has his plans for everyone's fate.'
My parallel experience working on high-rises, mixed-use developments, and luxury houses made me a versatile professional.
